Who Are We ?
Melbourne Bus Link is a Victorian based company that manages nine major inner city bus routes utilizing 90 buses and 170 drivers from depots located in Footscray and Sandringham.
Services operate seven days per week with extended night and weekend service coverage on frequencies that are well in excess of industry averages. Our services are one of the few that operate through the city and we are the only operator to provide bus services across the Westgate Bridge linking the western bayside suburbs with the CBD.
As an Accredited Bus Operator Melbourne Bus Link maintains a number of internal systems covering legislative compliance, fleet / maintenance management, occupational health and safety and customer relations. At the same time management is proactively focused on the Continuous Improvement of operating procedures across all functions. Melbourne Bus Link drivers are regularly trained in all aspects of bus operations including customer service skills, occupational health and safety and disability awareness.
Our on-going Capital Investment program will see our fleet fully converted to new style, low floor, security camera equipped and DDA compliant buses in the next few years, again well ahead of industry standards. All buses are fitted with climate controlled heating and cooling. New buses comply with regulated emission control standards and our commitment to the environment is further demonstrated by a long standing partnership with the Greenhouse Challenge, a national and international environmental protection program.
Melbourne Bus Link has a dedicated Customer Relations Department to receive and respond to customer enquiries / issues and to capture community input and response to existing and proposed service initiatives.
Input from the foregoing process and the monitoring of passenger volumes and road and traffic conditions across our network, is used to regularly adjust timetables and frequencies with an overall aim of offering our existing and prospective customers the Best Public Transport Service Solutions. This is evidenced by the recent extension of services into the Caroline Springs area west of Melbourne.
